What Happened in July [a diary entry]

July was a roller-coaster. Some highs, some low lows. Nonetheless, it was an eventful month and I am glad it is over. The experiences that I had in July were life changing and eye opening. I have learned so much and I feel like I have changed so much. But all the same, let’s get into these categories.

listening to: I have been obsessed with 90s and 2000s RbB. to satisfy this obsession I curated an amazing playlist for my pleasure and yours. You can find it HERE. Besides my RnB playlist, I have been listening to the Morally Corrupt Podcast, I said What I said Podcast, and Higher Learning.

What I am watching: currently watching Big Brother 28. The season started off pretty strong, but the house divided and it seems like the same group keeps winning and it’s making it less interesting. I watched 5 Star Weekend on Peacock and I absolutely loved it. I had read the book sometime last year and honestly the adaptation really matched the book. Usually the book is better but here, i think it was equal.

She Reads: I managed to only read one book this month and started about three. I read Rumors by Elin Hilderbrand. It took me a while but I finished it. I love Elin Hilderbrand for the summer time. The book was drama filled, a little expose, infidelity, fraud, and other interesting topics based in Nantucket. get the book HERE

What is the Lord saying? Sometimes look like a fool for the sake of. Not necessarily looking like a fool, but sometimes, you have to sacrifice your “rightness” for the sake of peace.

A break for a little heart to heart: I have really been struggling since giving birth and I am a little hesitant to talk about it with people in my life. For fear of not expressing it adequately or maybe being dismissed as many women go through something similar. Anyways…

Appearance Matters: I have been obsessed with snapping back after child birth. Mind you I am only 5 weeks postpartum but I have been inundated with women snapping back that it got to me. I had goals of glowing up and being the hottest I have ever been. The body has a way of reminding you that it too has a mind of its own and sometimes, what you want it to do, it can’t. But I am reminded that I can work on my appearance later and right now, I need to focus on healing my body.

Healthy Living: Right now I just want to do things that are healing to the soul and body. I am trying to eat less fast food and drink more water. But that is all for now.

A toast to a more meaningful and intentional next month.
