This article is your sign to go on a girls trip! Don’t take it lightly, just do it!
I recently just got back from a girls trip with some of my favorite people and I thought it would be fun to share all about it. In this article, I’ll be discussing where we went, planning, what we did, and a little bit of lessons I learned mainly about myself.

Around sometime last year, my friends and I decided that it would be fun to take a trip together. We really didn’t have a place in my mind, we just thought it would be something nice to do. Fast forward to this year. We decided that the trip shouldn’t just be a thought and we needed to make it happen. We landed in Austin, Texas. Most of us had been there before but we hadn’t been there together and we thought it would be a fun road trip going from Dallas to Austin. The drive was short enough and it was right in our backyard.

Our first stop was, Waco, Texas.
Waco is on the way to Austin from Dallas and we wanted to go to the Magnolia MArket and the Dr. Pepper museum. We ended up just going to Magnolia Market, but skipped the Dr. Pepper museum. We had such a good time there. The place was so picturesque, which meant tons and tons of pictures. We also had a nice stroll at the gift shop. I didn’t end up buying anything just because the things were on the pricey side. We did meet up with a friend at Chick Fil A.
We stayed at the Aloft hotel at The Domain. We chose the place because we thought it would be easy to stroll around during our downtimes. Honestly we didn’t have enough time to explore all that The Domain had to offer, but we did get some decent food there.

When in Austin, you must hike
We went to the Lady Bird Trail and we had an amazing time. All though hesitant to go at first because of how early it was, but once we got there, we had a change of heart.

The one place that wasn’t really hit was Soho! Okay, it wasn’t about the place but the temperature was unbearable. So we literally packed and got back in our car and left. We had a really nice dinner at Perry’s Steakhouse once the weather settled a bit.

On our last day, we went to Fall Creek Winery. Honestly the place was underwhelming. But I am guessing it was chill because of the time we went. We didn’t book a tour so we basically had a snack and shared a bottle of wine. We also took some really cute pictures. It was actually the best place for pictures. The last thing we did was have a little get together at a friend’s house.

Lesson Learned
I think my take away from this trip was that I can be a bit uptight. My temperament is melancholic and phlegmatic (more on this in a different post) and I think when it comes to planning things, i lean a little bit towards the “controlling” side. I sometimes struggle with anxiety, so having a plan and sticking to it often curbs it. But I learned that when I am doing things leisurely, I need to lean towards my phleg temperament and be a bit more laid back. It is just funny that any other time, I would have described as laid back, but realizing I am not has been really eye opening. But more on that later.
Have you ever been on a girls trip? how was it?
